Job Description
Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center is hiring a part-time and/or full-time family practice provider (MD / DO / ARNP) to assist in providing excellent service to our member community.
We are a flourishing Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic and Counseling Center – meaning we provide advanced family practice and mental health services for a flat membership fee.
Job Highlights
- We do not contract with insurance companies, therefore no insurance requirements in patient care
- No RVUs = focus on patient care and good medical practice
- Rotating on-call schedule
- Controlled patient panel = higher access and higher quality of care
- Most appointments scheduled for 30-minutes
Job Responsibilities
- Advanced primary care skills, including urgent care
- On call rotation – typically one week at a time, averaging 2-10 after-hours calls, every 4-5 weeks
- Ability to see an average of 16 members per day
- Full-time = 4 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a one-hour lunch
- Part-time = 3 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a one-hour lunch
- Be aware of financial impact to members of prescriptions, referrals, etc. (staff will assist)
- Collaborate closely with fellow providers to provide the best and most complete treatment possible
Job Requirements
- Valid and current Washington State Medical License
- Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Willingness to opt-out of Medicare (staff will help you with this process prior to onboarding)
- Either live in or travel to Yakima, WA on a daily basis

We opened our doors January 1st, 2014, as one of the leading Direct Primary Care practices in Washington State.
Co-owners Richard Edgerly, MD and Holly Porter, LMHC started Assurance Healthcare & Counseling Center with the purpose of freeing providers and patients from the misaligned incentives of the fee-for-service, insurance-based system and to help re-establish the relationship between provider and their patients.
Our goal as a clinic is to provide incredible, accessible medical and mental health care to members. We seek to prevent our members from being taken advantage of in a complicated and confusing healthcare system. We do that by prioritizing transparency in pricing and minimization of unnecessary referrals.
Since we value patient-provider contact, we do not utilize the services of nurses or medical assistants, but have providers get patients from our waiting area and see them through the end of the exam. Medical providers can expect to become very efficient in charting, as we do not require any insurance-based codes or systems (no ICD-10 codes, no diagnosis codes, no MIPS, etc.).
