No! Thankfully we’re not considered health insurance. That way we can focus on caring for you and your family rather than dealing with expensive and frustrating insurance regulations.

By itself, membership does not qualify as health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA, or “ObamaCare”). Beginning in 2019, the tax penalty for not having insurance is $0 – so the requirement to have health insurance has essentially disappeared!

There are more and more options available to individuals, families and businesses when it comes to paying for your healthcare. Contact us for more information on what type of plan might work best for you.

If you have health insurance, a health sharing or medical cost sharing plan: this is when insurance or health sharing / medical cost sharing will be useful to you. We are still your primary care physician and can coordinate care when necessary, and even do much of the necessary follow up care.

If you don’t have health insurance: we can still help you! As a member with us, we would help you navigate the healthcare system, even advising you how to negotiate medical bills and find the best care at the lowest possible price. We can often save you thousands of dollars as a self-pay patient – often less than if you were paying for insurance! If this is an attractive option for you, but you’d still love a little peace of mind when it comes to catastrophic events, then a medical cost sharing plan or health sharing ministry may be a great fit for you. In both cases, we can work to help you create a health plan that works best for you.

In short, yes. A High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is the least expensive and closest thing you can purchase to what used to be known as ‘catastrophic health insurance.’

The better answer… let us help you find something that works well for you. Some people benefit from HDHP’s, and others might qualify and benefit from a health sharing or medical cost sharing plan (a health insurance alternative). Absolutely. In our experience, most people that have never visited the doctor before end up seeing us an average of 4 times per year. Why? Because you CAN see us! Since we have no copays or office visit charges, it makes sense to see us for anything you can – even just basic questions about your health.

And, in case you have an urgent injury, one trip to the emergency room will likely pay for up to 5 years of membership!

Plus, having a physician available to you 24/7 without any copays has proven to improve health. With our membership, you have immediate access for all of those minor issues that you would NOT have visited the doctor for before because of money, time, or energy. Using your membership is just a phone call away!

Assurance Healthcare Membership includes unlimited use of any classes, workshops, or group therapy, and other various counseling components.

Each individual or couple desiring private counseling is encouraged to participate in our free Intro to Counseling workshop. After our intake sessions of $125, membership includes six (6) free counseling sessions for the lifetime of the membership (even if membership is cancelled or extends beyond one year), with additional visits being charged $50 per visit (subject to change). Unfortunately we are unable to provide pre-natal and delivery services at this time.

But, we have some good news.

First, as a member with us we can help save you money on any lab costs that you need for pregnancy, and possibly some other third-party services (like ultrasounds, etc.).

We are also able to take care of your new baby starting day 1! Well child checks are included with your child’s membership, and it’s easy to add them to your membership either as an individual child or as part of one of our family plans. For more pricing information, click here.

We require a 6 month commitment at the beginning of membership (not all due at once, but 6 monthly payments), and then membership is month-to-month after that.

For active members… nothing! Yes, we do offer DOT physicals as a benefit of membership. Just be sure to call and schedule an appointment at least a month before the expiration of your DOT certificate, as not all of our providers are DOT certified. Unfortunately we are only offering DOT physicals to current members.

Anytime. New patients may register any time of year. We encourage you to register soon, as membership is limited per provider.
